Athens and the Aegean, Slowly by Sail
Eight days from Athens toward Istanbul aboard a small sailing ship, with long mornings in port and evenings at sea. A journey shaped by short distances, old harbours and time to look properly.
Arrive in Athens
A private transfer brings you to your hotel near the Plaka. The rest of the day is unhurried — settle in, walk the neighbourhood and dine early.
Athens, with a private guide
See the Acropolis in the cooler morning with a private guide who sets the pace to you. In the late afternoon you board your ship and sail as the light fades.
Mykonos and Delos
Wake in Mykonos, with the option of a short boat ride to the quiet ruins of Delos. Return for a late lunch ashore and an evening in the old town.
Santorini
A full day on Santorini — the caldera villages, a family-run winery and time simply to sit above the water. Sail on after dinner so the evening stays on the island.
Crete
Call in Crete for the palace of Knossos with a guide, then a slow afternoon in Heraklion's museum and markets. Back aboard for a quiet night under way.
The Turkish coast
A port day in Bodrum, with its castle, marina and shaded streets. Those who prefer to stay aboard can watch the harbour from deck.
Ephesus
From Kusadasi, visit Ephesus in the morning before the heat builds, guided at a measured pace. A final dinner at sea as you approach the Bosphorus.
Arrive in Istanbul
Sail into Istanbul at breakfast time. A private transfer takes you to your hotel or onward flight, depending on how you have chosen to extend the trip.
